Sierra Conservation Camp (Jamestown Prison)

Where to start it is impossible to tell you what is happening there.  An explosion and we are told we were a big part of it.  The men have really turned over their lives to God and it is an awesome time each time we go.  We hear more and more how the words thru God changed their lives and what is happening.  This has been at least a 7 year adventure so far and they continue to want us back so, we move forward and upwards.  I see so many changes over the years and in levels one and two there is a big turn over but in level three we see the a lot of the same men over and over.  Chaplain Trey Littlejohn has told me that they have six groups that they have over and over and ours is at the top of the list.  Thanks for all who send us in with your prayers, support and love.  This is a good work and you are a part of it.

Elk Horn Boot Camp

We think this one is about seven years also, at least I think that is what Chaplain Karl Funk says.  It is great to see the work going on there and being a part of it makes this ministry know why we continue.  Sometimes we wonder why we are still invited to come as most of our team is older now and yet it still reaches the boys and it amazes us.  We hear good reports and see many changes while we are there with healing, giving their lives over etc.  We are encouraging them to get it together as well as letting them know we are ministering to their parents also.  We are so thankful to be used over and over for this place.

Valley State Prison

We have had the pleasure of ministering there with Women's Aglow.  They have been inviting us in for over 4 years now.  We schedule two times a year and this last year it was three and now they have asked for more.  All the time we are other places playing girls will come up to Kathie and tell her they saw her there and the words of encouragement and the prophetic words made a difference in their lives and they share what has happened.  It is so wonderful we wish you could all see what we are seeing.  It is so hard to share what happens and yet we are seeing the out come of it and that is what it is really all about.  What happens when we leave? Did they hear? Did they listen? Will it matter?  Did they change?  And the answer is yes it matters.  One of the guards walked us out last time and told us how important what we did was and could we come more.  Kathie is working of figuring out how we can.  We all have to work including Kathie to support ourselves so we do the best we can.  Pray for us that we can do more.  That funds will come in to reach out more. Thanks.

Kern State Prison

We have had the pleasure of joining forces with Prison Fellowship on occasions.  This was one of those times.  It was a lot of fun.  Our team and the prisons praise team combined together and what a time of fellowship we had.  Prison Fellowship did not have many that went in with us but it was still good.  Kathie gave a message and we are did what we were called to do.  Thanks to all for pitching in and being an incredible team in working it out for those men to see what team work is all about.  You truly know what Godly means.

Atwater Federal Prison

We were asked to do two services and along with Prison Fellowship we went in and did them.  They liked the KHF Band so much they asked us to come and do a yard event so hopefully we will be doing one.  It was a wonderful response and some even had heard us before at another prison.  Many received the Lord and stated that they loved the refreshing way we introduced them to Jesus.  Praise be to God!

Taft Federal Prison

It was a 2 hour trip to get there and a long hot day there but it was worth every moment. We worked with Prison Fellowship and together we saw many come to the Lord.  The Lord  gave us a nice sunny day and when it started getting warm the prisoners kept us in cool water and it even felt good on our heads.  They asked us back and we were able to and that too was am awesome time.  They have told us any time to contact them and set a date however it is so far and more costly as we feel the need like in Sonora to stay over night and we don’t have the funds to do that too often so the James town is the one we felt we must continue with.  As we get more support maybe this will be able to increase and then we can do more that are farther away from the home base.

Craycroft Center

We have loved going and ministering to the children. They loved the music and they dance and dance.  Santa came out and gifts were given to each child and you were a part of it all.  We wish you could see the looks on their faces and see the blessings we do.  We are not allowed to take pictures like at the prisons so we can only tell you that it is well worth the effort, finances, sacrifices and time that we all give up to be with them.  Thank You Lord for the blessing of the children and helping us to make their holidays brighter.  They taught us a dance also and they were good and we had fun learning….Praise God

Evangel Home

It is one we do regularly and they celebrated their 50th year this year.  Congrats!  We have been involved for the 10 years that the band has been together.  Kathie has been doing a service there for over 21 years now.  It is a blessing to see the home grow in blessing this community and seeing all the women who have been changed by the ministry there and to be apart of it is even more of a blessing.  When they added the Garden to it and paroled women into the program it made it so much more exciting and what a great work that has been and to be a big part of it blesses us.  We look forward to many more years of ministering to them.

KHFMM does a lot of prison ministry, whether it is men's, women's, youth or homes, in California and in Texas.  Here are some of the places that we currently visit, with new ones to be added next year, time and financing permitting.  Kathie stays in contact with the Chaplains and the response over the years has been great.  She also receives letters from inmates concerning help with life on the outside.  Keep watching, and as we get the time, we will be writing on the Texas prisons also.
